We honor American history by drawing inspiration for our custom size exterior doors from the U.S. Navy. The USS Mispillion was a historic oiler first commissioned in December of 1945. It remained in service until 1994, working mainly in the Pacific Ocean. An oiler like the USS Mispillion was a supply ship that performed refueling duties and occasionally delivered food, supplies, and mail. The oiler also participated in Korean War campaigns and the Vietnam War. When the USS Mispillion was sent to the scrap yard March 2012, it was 67 years old and the longest working Ashtabula-class oiler in U.S. history.

The door handle is shaped to resemble a dock mooring cleat reminiscent of those used to anchor ships.
