Most homes are built first, with the doors added later. This home began with a pair of monumental double doors designed by Master Builder Artist and Creative Architect, H.J. Nick and handcrafted by the master artisans of ArtFactory.com.

The entrance was designed so the doors appear to support the house — not as though the house is merely holding up the doors. Its massive jamb structure is four inches thick and extends through the full depth of the wall, creating an exceptionally strong architectural opening.

As experienced designers, engineers and architectural craftsmen, we understand structural loads, live loads, wind forces and the importance of transferring those loads correctly throughout the entrance system. Our doors, jambs, hinges and forged hardware are designed to function together as one complete structural assembly. Project-specific engineering can be reviewed, stamped and certified for installation in any state by the appropriate licensed professionals.

The doors are built using old-world mortise-and-tenon, peg-and-dowel joinery — methods proven through centuries of service. Heavy solid timber, deep raised panels and hand-forged iron hardware give the entrance tremendous strength without sacrificing elegance.

These 4" thick solid timber house was then designed around this centerpiece. Stone columns, structural timbers and warm masonry frame the entrance, while a matching handcrafted garage door repeats the curved panel design, natural wood character and forged-iron details.

This is not a mansion. It is an exceptionally refined American home whose quality becomes more evident the closer one comes.

Even the garage was not permitted to become an afterthought.

Its matching handcrafted wooden doors repeat the curved upper panels, substantial lower panels and dark forged hardware of the main entrance. They visually connect the entire façade, transforming a normally utilitarian feature into a continuation of the home’s architectural story.

From the front entrance to the garage, every major element speaks the same language: authentic materials, human hands and construction meant to endure.
