Bouillon Belgium Castle History Of The Knights

Located in Belgium in the town of Bouillon, which is about a 1 hour drive away from Luxembourg and 2 hours away from Brussels. This fortified Castle was built for knights to reside in, not for royalty of any kind. One knight that lived in this Castle was Godfrey until 1096 when he sold the Castle to Otbert, Price-bishop of Liege. Godfrey conquered Jerusalem and died there in 1100 with the title known as ?Defender of the Holy Sepulchre? because he refused to wear the Gold crown, referencing him as King, in the same city where Jesus has worn the crown of thorns. Today, Castle Of Bouillon is open to the public for tours with local vendors around to treat the tourists.
