Situated in the Northern Part of Jutland Peninsula. Dating back to the 12th Century, Queen Charlotte Amalie purchased this castle in 1690 . It is her that marked the name as Dronninglund meaning ?Queens Forrest?. Being a female herself and often housing Nuns and using part of the Castle as a dormitory for unmarried noble women security was of the utmost importance no matter where on the property.
