From Medieval Castles to Cedar Wood Entrance Door Design

We drew inspiration for our cedar wood door from a medieval castle in the Brittany region of France, Ch?teau de Tr?cesson. This stunning architecture, originating from the 8th century, is surrounded by a pristine lake with an impressive gatehouse to guard the entrance. Though an extensive history of the ch?teau is lost, it came under ownership of the Tr?cesson family in the 13th century. It remained with the family until 1773, and today it is a private home of the countess de Prunel?. Impressed by its condition and beauty, the French Ministry of Culture officially listed it as a historic monument in 1922.

As with many castles, Ch?teau de Tr?cesson is rumored to be haunted by ghosts, including ?Dames Blanches,? or ?white ladies.? These mischievous spirits are said to lurk around narrow passages and bridges to lure passersby. The Dame Blanche will insist the stranger dance with her. Any who refuse the invite may find themselves haunted until he or she reaches a destination.
