Custom Medieval Castle Door: Fine Art Hand Forged Iron Hardware
ArtFactory.com is proud to build doors that will stand the test of time, and can be enjoyed for generations. We create designs such as this custom medieval castle door, that are inspired by history, and then build them using historically correct methods and materials. All of our custom doors are made by hand using techniques passed down for hundreds of years. This means wood products that are hand hewn with mortise and tenon joinery, and blacksmith hand forged hardware. We specialize in historically inspired designs that capture the nobility of any era, and then deliver them directly to your home at factory direct pricing.
When we build a castle door, these are not reproduction quality doors. Our very own award winning artist H.J. Nick travels the world in search of inspiration for his designs. By visiting historical architectural sites worldwide, he is able to not only see the designs up close and personal, but also to observe the techniques and materials which were used to construct them. H.J. Nick believes that using the correct building methods is especially relevant when creating historically inspired designs. As a result, when you buy our custom medieval castle door, of any of our other castle style doors, you will receive the genuine article, a real castle door befitting of kings and queens.
Custom Medieval Castle Door Inspired By The Design Of Castello Sforzesco
This custom medieval castle door features custom hardware designs inspired by Castello Sforzesco in Milan, Italy. The custom door pull and knocker both feature a medieval style, and are hand forged by our master blacksmiths from solid wrought iron. We use wrought iron for our custom hardware, because unlike cheap filler metals, it will not corrode with exposure to the elements. Furthermore, we do not believe in casting, drop forging, or any other modern fast process production. Blacksmith hand forging allows for a durability that is unmatched on the market today. To top it all off, the door is hung with sturdy wrought iron strap hinges to further enhance it's medieval look.
This custom medieval castle door, and all of our custom doors include top quality accessories such as an adjustable heavy-duty crush proof threshold, self-closing adjustable tension hinges, automatic mechanical door sweep, single cylinder deadbolt, and roller style door latches. Our doors come as a complete package, delivered to your home, and ready to be installed. Call us today at 1-800-292-0008 to speak with one of our talented design engineers today.
More About Historic Design Inspiration Castello Sforzesco
Sforza Castle (Italian: Castello Sforzesco) is in Milan, northern Italy. It was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan, on the remnants of a 14th-century fortification. Later renovated and enlarged, in the 16th and 17th centuries it was one of the largest citadels in Europe. Extensively rebuilt by Luca Beltrami in 1891–1905, it now houses several of the city's museums and art collections.
The original construction was ordered by local lord Galeazzo II Visconti in 1358–c. 1370; this castle was known as Castello di Porta Giova (or Porta Zubia), from the name of a gate in walls located nearby. His successors Gian Galeazzo, Giovanni Maria and Filippo Maria Visconti enlarged it, until it became a square-plan castle with 200 m-long sides, four towers at the corners and up to 7-metre-thick (23 ft) walls. The castle was the main residence in the city of its Visconti lords, and was destroyed by the short-lived Golden Ambrosian Republic which ousted them in 1447.
