History Of The Beautiful St. Michael's Cathedral
Also known as St. Michaels Cathedral was built between the 14h and 15th century, it became quickly known as the largest Parish in England. St. Michael's Cathedral now stands in rubble, nearly completely wiped out In 1940 during the "Coventry Blitz" by the Germans. After the bombing of the Medieval Cathedral in 1940, Provost Richard Howard had the words "Father Forgive" posted up on the wall behind the altar. Today, the new St. Michael Cathedral is built next to the remains of the original. Famous designer Basil Spence and John Laing built the new Cathedral and is now considered a Grade I listed building.
