Description
Old West Inspired Wooden Door: With Custom Colt 45 Door Pull
In the late 1800's and early 1900's small mining towns popped up all over the American West, growing when there was a gold, silver, or copper strike and dying when the mines ran dry. Many of these towns were known for being a bit lawless and helped to drive the image of the Wild West. There are the remnants of boomtowns, now known as ghost towns, scattered throughout Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and the rest of the west.
Many are just shells of buildings or have been reclaimed by the surrounding landscape. Some are in a semi-preserved state; others still have a few residents. Goldfield in Nevada was responsible for Nevada reaching the population count for statehood and was once the largest city in the state with over 30,000 people. Founded in 1902, once the gold vein was almost emptied, the town quickly lost its population and by 1920 was at about 1,500 people. Today, the population is around 300 souls.
This Old West Inspired Wooden Door Is Guaranteed To Last
This wood door entrance is modeled after a door that could easily be found in an Old West town. What could be just a simple panel door is elevated by hand carving around the window and a hand forged wrought iron window grill. Of course, no story about the Wild West is complete without a Colt .45 revolver and this customer added it with a custom made door pull. One of the most popular guns of the time, the Colt .45 makes a unique addition to your custom entrance door, adding a bit of edginess. Celebrate the history of the Wild West by installing this hand carved door in your home.
