Custom Handcrafted Executive Chair Historical Origin & Design Inspiration

This chair is inspired by two men who each contributed to the creation of a beautiful American style. Charles Limbert was a furniture maker who worked in the American Arts & Crafts style, also known as American Craftsman. He created chairs, similar in look to this chair, for architect Robert Reamer and his Canyon Hotel in Yellowstone Park. Robert also designed and built the Old Faithful Inn, also in Yellowstone, and became known for the rustic building style he pioneered.

When the Canyon Hotel was slated to be demolished in 1959, only a few items were salvaged, and the Limbert chairs were among those items. They are now located in the Old Faithful Inn and match the decor that Reamer pioneered, the mixture of wood and iron in a graceful architectural dance, that helped the Old Faithful Inn become a National Historic Landmark. That combination of rustic and progress is what inspired this chair with the beauty of natural wood and the grace of iron sculpture.
