Our custom solid wood game room tables are original, world class fine art designs by award winning artist H.J. Nick. Each is built with the highest quality materials available anywhere. This includes genuine, solid, hand hewn, full length planks of timber that has been naturally cured in the Scottsdale, Arizona desert air. Built with the tried and tested technique of mortise and tenon, pegged and doweled construction. Each custom carom table is individually handmade in the U.S.A. by skilled master craftsmen, and guaranteed to last forever with little or no maintenance.

This master hand carved carom table is built using full length, old growth timber that has been naturally cured in the Arizona desert sun. Furthermore, this table features a master hand carved floral acanthus design, and is a one-of-a-kind fine art certified carving by the hands of one of our master wood carvers. Each product the we build is a unique work of art that will never be mass produced, all done by one of our world class carvers who has been classically trained in the technique of direct carving. It is carved with a multi-level, high relief process that creates both positive and negative reliefs. This type of detail (including elements such as carved out undersides of leaves) cannot be achieved using any machine. To be recognized as certified fine art, all carvings must be in the same hand technique. That is why our products are never gang carved, CNC machined, or carved using any type of fast process. This assures that each is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of fine art. These details are especially relevant in the eyes of appraisers when judging a piece as fine art.

At ArtFactory.com we believe in building furniture that is not something that you just use for a few years and then throw away. Building items that are disposable is a practice that is unique to the past fifty years. In the old world, when a piece of furniture was built, it was built from solid, natural materials by master craftsmen. Most importantly, it was built to last forever. Something like a hand carved carom table would be passed down through a family for generations. We have carried that tradition of built to last craftsmanship into the 21st century. That is why our solid wood products made using hand hewn planks of solid timber, pegged and doweled, mortise and tenon construction. This type of materials and craftsmanship makes for a product that is built to last forever.

Building A Family Legacy Through Heirloom Furniture

Don't just buy any billiards table when you can own a custom hand carved carom table that has that "WOW factor" that you have been looking for, and will properly represent your personality and accomplishment to every guest who arrives at your home or business.

Building a family legacy has been going on since the beginning of time. Building heirloom furniture intended to last for generations is one of the primary ways we all have in achieving some small part of immortality. These cherished family items will touch our loved ones for many years to come. Many societies, including the Egyptians and Mayans, as well as European royalty and aristocracy have created and passed down heirlooms for thousands of years.

In fact, if it were not for these artifacts, it would be impossible to know these people ever existed, how they were important to history. This is also the case in the 21st century within your own family. No matter if it's a simple, hope chest with your personal message or name as a gift to a loved one, or an extravagant, fine art quality, master hand carved carom table, these items will be important to the story of your family history long after you are gone.

Hand Carved Carom Table Fine Art Wood Finish Details

All of our custom, handcrafted game room tables are designed by and built under the supervision of award winning artist H.J. Nick. A product is not signed by H.J. Nick until he has personally inspected and found it to meet all world class fine art criteria.

The meticulous finish has been done in age old technique, using a 23-step hand rubbed process. We begin with fine hand sanding, and infused open grain hand applied stains. That puts the finish in the wood not just sprayed on it. This allows for the fine natural wood grains to show to perfection. There are then 20 additional steps requiring the application of wax, oils and lacquers with curing times between each process. This method is performed on all furniture and door wood surfaces inside and out. This tried and tested finish detail is required in the making of a one-of-a-kind, family heirloom quality product that meets world class investment quality standards that will stand the test of time. This process is the only way with little maintenance and the simple process of cleaning with oil will allow for a beautiful natural patina that will make this table more beautiful over time.

Our in-house, master woodworkers and blacksmiths handcraft all custom furniture to your design specifications. We only use the highest quality materials. All of our wooden furnishings, doors, and gates are made from solid, full length, naturally air dried timber. We believe in the quality of our products in craftsmanship so much that as result, our custom bedroom furniture and all of our products are guaranteed forever. When nothing but the best will do, call for pricing at 1-800-292-0008 and get started on the hand carved carom table of your dreams, or any other custom game room furniture project. Like all of our products, this bed was handmade in the USA, in our Scottsdale, Arizona factory.

Billiard & Carom Table Facts And History

Carom billiards tables Or Pocketless carom billiards tables are used for such games as three-cushion billiards, straight rail, balkline, artistic billiards and cushion caroms. Regulation carom billiards tables are rectangles, with the bed of the table (the playing surface) measuring 10 feet by 5 feet (though 9 ft by 4.5 ft are increasingly common)

The slate bed of carom billiard tables are often heated to about 5 degrees C (9 deg F) above room temperature, which helps to keep moisture out of the cloth to aid the balls rolling and rebounding in a consistent manner, and generally makes a table play faster. A heated table is required under international carom rules and is an especially important requirement for the games of three-cushion billiards and artistic billiards.

Heating table beds is an old practice. Queen Victoria of England (1819-1901) had a billard table that was heated using zinc tubes, although the aim at that time was chiefly to keep the then-used ivory balls from warping. The first use of electric heating was for an 18.2 balkline tournament held in December 1927 between Welker Cochran and Jacob Schaefer, Jr. The New York Times announced it with fanfare: "For the first time in the history of world's championship balkline billiards a heated table will be used.
