History of Texaco
The company we know as Texaco today was originally founded as The Texas Fuel Company in 1901. That company was absorbed by The Texas Company, founded by J.S. Cullinan and Arnold Schlaet, in 1902. They registered their first trademark in 1909, the red star with the capital T.
In 1928, after acquiring California Petroleum Corporation, Texaco became the first oil company to market in all 48 continental United States. Ever expanding, the company purchased Indian Oil Company in 1931 and got the rights to Havoline motor oil in the process. Fire Chief gasoline was introduced the next year. They continually worked on expanding to other countries over the years and now they operate in more than 150 countries.
