Polynesian Art Nouveau Door: Fine Art Quality Master Hand Carvings

Hand Carved Hawaiian Themed Arch Door

Our historically inspired door designs are not reproductions. Each is an original design by award winning artist H.J. Nick that has been built using the same hand and materials that were used to build the originals.

These Polynesian Art Nouveau doors from ArtFactory.com make a bold statement with this original design inspired by Jules Lavirotte and Polynesian style wood carving. Like all of our custom wood doors, it is constructed from thick, solid, full length timber, and features a classic French Art Nouveau inspired arched design. There are true divided glass panel top lite windows that feature tempered, dual pane glass for additional energy efficiency and security. As shown, we have applied a medium brown finish, which is just one of over 400 designer stain colors to choose from, or we can match to the color of your choice. We construct all of our doors with the same materials and techniques, that have been used to build castle and fortress doors for centuries. This type of construction ensures that you will have a door that is built to stand the test of time.

An entrance door with an arched top is a true display of style and elegance, and this door features all of the curves that you would expect in an Art Nouveau inspired piece. However, the intricately detailed, high relief, Hawaiian palm tree motif wood carvings are what makes this a truly unique entrance. Like all of our carved doors, the design is carved directly into the wood by the hand's of one of our master wood carvings. Direct carvings by one master's hands is especially relevant in the eyes of appraisers when judging a piece as fine art. All of our products meet this qualification. These carvings include details like carved our undersides or leaves that cannot be achieved using any type of machine. We never use CNC machine, gang carving, or an other type of fast process. This ensures of a custom entrance that will add to the value of your property, and become an appreciable work of fine art.

Building a family legacy has been going on since the beginning of time. Building heirloom furniture and doors intended to last forever is one of the primary ways we all have in achieving some small part of immortality. These cherished family items will touch our loved ones for many years to come through physical interactions as well as family photos. Many societies, including the Egyptians and Mayans, as well as European royalty and aristocracy have created and passed down heirlooms for thousands of years.

In fact, if it were not for these artifacts, it would be impossible to know these people ever existed, and how they were important to history. This is also the case in the 21st century within your own family. No matter if it’s a simple, hope chest with your personal message or name as a gift to a loved one, or an extravagant, fine art quality, master handcrafted, Polynesian Art Nouveau door, these items will be important to the story of your family history long after we are gone.

These Are No Ordinary Entrance Doors

Polynesian Art Nouveau Door Hand Rubbed Finish Details

Hand Carved Hawaiian Themed Arch Door

This door features an intricately detailed carved wood design with both positive and negative reliefs that cannot be achieved by any machine. These are high relief carvings by the hands of one of our master carvers. Carvings by one master's hands are especially relevant when qualifying a piece as fine art.

The meticulous finish has been done in age old technique, using a 23-step hand rubbed process. We begin with fine hand sanding, and infused open grain hand applied stains. That puts the finish in the wood not just sprayed on it. This allows for the fine natural wood grains to show to perfection. There are then 20 additional steps requiring the application of wax, oils and lacquers with curing times between each process. This method is performed on all furniture and door wood surfaces inside and out. This tried and tested finish detail is required in the making of a one-of-a-kind, family heirloom quality product that meets world class investment quality standards that will stand the test of time. This process is the only way that with little maintenance, and the simple process of cleaning with oil, will allow for a beautiful natural patina that will make this door more beautiful over time.

It is our belief that our combination of top quality materials and master hand craftsmanship allow us to offer a quality of product that is unmatched anywhere, at any price.
