Wrought Iron Gates
Wrought Iron 17th century garden gates – Custom entrance and garden gate design inspiration. All ArtFactory.com works are signature, family heirloom and investment quality fine art. We create works “The Old Fashioned Way” using solid hand forged iron – not drop forged (drop forged is a casted copy of a hand forged work of art). There is no machine in existence which can truly duplicate the quality of hand forged iron works. All our custom wrought iron gates are beautifully patina finished created using hand applied oxides to raw iron. They are then cured at over 1000 degrees to bond with the metal and create a finish which is a permanent part of the iron gate. The patina finish on all our custom iron gates will never fade, chip or crack and will only improve with age creating a virtually maintenance free entrance gate.
How Its Made – Master Blacksmithing – All Wrought Iron – Custom master blacksmiths created using solid hand forged wrought iron (no castings or hollow faux metals). All heat applied custom iron oxide hand patina finished (no powder coating or faux paint on iron finishes). Order any size or style custom gate. All American, custom made, and guaranteed forever – backed by over a century of fine craftsmanship since 1913.

Wrought Iron Gates – Historical Origin and Design Inspiration
Castle Howard is a stately home in North Yorkshire, England, One of the grandest private residences in Britain, most of it was built between 1699 and 1712 for the 3rd Earl of Carlisle, to a design by Sir John Vanbrugh. Castle Howard has been the home of part of the Howard family for more than 300 years. It is familiar to television and movie audiences as the fictional “Brideshead”, both in Granada Television’s 1981 adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited and a two-hour 2008 remake for theatres. Today, it is part of the Treasure Houses of England heritage group. Castle Howard has extensive and diverse gardens. There is a large formal garden immediately behind the house. The house is prominently situated on a ridge and this was exploited to create a landscape garden, which opens out from the formal garden and merges with the park.
